Icelandic adventure

Four lucky producers had the trip of a lifetime this September through our annual producer sweepstakes. We took winners on an all-expense paid, unforgettable trip to enjoy the natural beauty, incredible thrills and unmatched luxury of Iceland. The most amazing part: All they had to do for a chance to win was sell SageSure. Every bound policy earned an entry into the sweepstakes.

Over six days and five nights, winning producers went on tours of volcanoes, hiked glaciers, viewed the Northern Lights, experienced the breathtaking beauty from above in a helicopter tour and were rejuvenated at the Blue Lagoon. Trip highlights included:

• The Hallgrímskirkja Church, a famous landmark in Reykjavík. Started in 1945 and completed in 1986, it is the largest church in Iceland and has a space shuttle appearance that alludes to the volcanic nature of the island.
• Iceland’s biggest attraction, the Blue Lagoon. Fueled by volcanic activity, the 104-degree water meets silica creating a one-of-a-kind lava-shaped pool.
• Gullfoss, known as the “Golden Waterfall.” Water from a glacial river feeds this famous site, which is under environmental protection after attempts to build a dam for hydroelectric power.
• Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon. Iceberg drifts create an alluring atmosphere at this natural attraction that has been featured in several Hollywood films, including two James Bond movies and Batman Begins.

An extra special highlight from this year was a marriage proposal. One producer took advantage of this memorable trip to ask his girlfriend to marry him. She said yes, but questions remain about how they will top this trip for the honeymoon.
